Ecological issues are especially burning in the region of OJSC Beraton location, which is due first of all to proximity of the Kama water storage. Before 1975 the enterprise owned only local facilities for waste water treatment. Since 1975 we have been operating a complex for chemical treatment providing oxidation of sulphurous waste water, reduction of nitro effluents and neutralization of acid waste water. Extended systems of collecting reservoirs collect and transport waste water from the production lines to the treatment facilities. Biological waste water facilities have been in operation since 1984. There are some storage ponds, in which the concentration of harmful components is reported.
Before release into the atmosphere waste gases of most production lines go through local gas recovery facilities providing their mitigation of 90% min. Several furnaces for waste gas burning are available. The enterprise has a license to place and dump solid domestic and industrial waste at the solid waste collector. New projects go through ecological assessment.
